Element 25, in collaboration with Scania and Regroup, is planning for the launch of an autonomous mining fleet at the Butcherbird Manganese Mine. This fleet of 11 autonomous trucks aims to improve productivity, safety, and reduce costs compared to traditional mining methods. The transition to autonomous mining vehicles is a step towards fully electric ore haulage at Butcherbird.
Additionally, a battery electric vehicle will be rolled out to support renewable energy infrastructure at the site. This initiative is expected to enhance operational safety, sustainability, and logistical efficiency while reducing energy requirements and operational costs.
The company also intends to construct a large-scale processing facility at Butcherbird to produce high-quality manganese concentrate, targeting customers in the steel industry. Furthermore, Element 25 is working on a battery-grade manganese facility in the USA, in partnership with GM and Stellantis, with strong support from the US Department of Energy.
