Manganese for Traditional & EV Markets

The Future of Clean Energy Needs Manganese.
We Deliver it Sustainably.

We’re building a world-class zero-carbon, battery-grade manganese supply — critical for EV's and a cleaner future.

From Butcherbird to
Battery Power.

Thanks to a $50M NAIF loan and $10M strategic placement, we’re accelerating Butcherbird’s expansion to 1.1 Mtpa. This growth will supply our proposed HPMSM facility in Louisiana, backed by General Motors, Stellantis, and the U.S. Government.

Backed by Partners,
Powered by Purpose.

Our mission is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Stellantis, and General Motors. We are reshaping the global manganese supply chain with full transparency, traceability and a commitment to ESG leadership.

Our Projects

Element 25's 100% owned Butcherbird Project in Western Australia hosts Australia’s largest onshore manganese resource, with a 274-million tonne resource (JORC 2012) and further exploration upside.

In January 2025, Element 25 updated a Feasibility Study (FS) for its proposed expansion of Butcherbird to 1.1 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of manganese oxide concentrate, which demonstrated robust economic returns and rapid capital payback.

The project execution team has commenced detailed design, planning and procurement for the new facility with the goal of expediting the planned expansion. Manganese from Butcherbird will be used in the production of High Purity Manganese Sulphate Monohydrate (HPMSM) in the United States.

Element 25 is developing the first U.S. based high purity manganese sulphate monohydrate (HPMSM) processing facility. The proposed refinery will produce a very high purity HPMSM, which is a critical raw material for electric vehicle (EV) battery cathodes. The proposed base case location for the business is in Louisiana, USA.

Element 25 secured a US$166M grant from the U.S. Department of Energy in addition to binding offtake and financing agreements with General Motors LLC and Stellantis N.V., two leading global EV automakers, which total US$115M to cornerstone the success of the project. The Company is currently working to finalise project financing and is progressing with detailed engineering to bring this first-of-its-kind refinery to supply a key critical raw material for battery manufacturing to the U.S. electric vehicle industry.
